Thistle Doo Farm

Thistle Doo Farm was founded in January 2022 when children's author James Campbell was looking for somewhere to park his caravan.  He was shown three acres of depleted farmland that no one had really done anything with for decades.  Seeing the natural, south facing, sheltered aspect of the site, James set about transforming the land and letting the land transform him.

Designed on Permaculture lines, Thistle Doo tries to abide by the three ethics: Earth Care, People Care and Fair Share.

Thistle Doo Farm currently consists of various food forests, fruit orchards, a small lake, swales and a newly planted British woodland.  We also have facilities which combine to create a plant nursery specialising in food forest plants and trees; a hand crafted lath house and natural ampitheatre which can be used for events and parties; an Octagon Shelter for events and workshops.  

We regularly receive visits from schools and families.
